Applied Cyber Research and Development

DarkNexus conducts ongoing research on a variety of devices to examine and investigate software and hardware to determine potential vulnerabilities resulting in unintended outcomes. We offer and have provided this research as a “streaming” service to several customers which has enhanced their opportunities and capabilities in their respective cyber mission areas. DarkNexus Labs can provide specific platform-based research and can expand our lab by leveraging partner companies to address a wide range of platforms and technologies.

DarkNexus conducts 3rd party Verification and Validation (V&V) of capabilities that support our customers. Our engineers forensically examine new technologies and tools at a code level to optimize the security and functionality of technologies and tools before being transitioned or deployed in operational environments. DarkNexus Labs’ unique approach and use of experienced cyber operations personnel have been highlighted by customers for providing more advanced assessments than competing companies for similar testing.

In partnership with New Mexico Technical University (New Mexico Tech), DarkNexus can conduct operational testing at the Playas Training and Research Center (PTRC) in Playas, NM. The PTRC is a 41 square-mile research and field laboratory. Airspace is uncongested and our partner, New Mexico Tech, has demonstrated experience managing special use airspace above the facility. The facility allows for live testing of cyber equipment and tools in a physical environment where clutter can be controlled. This environment also allows for exercises to combine the physical and virtual environments connecting to virtual ranges once initial access points have been achieved.
